Real-world range

Brands publish range from lab test cycles. We apply a real-world factor of 70 to 82 percent depending on the cycle, so cost per km isn't understated. Where a brand publishes its own real-world range (currently Tata), we use that instead. Change it under Advanced.

Charging losses and GST

Home charging loses about 12 percent between meter and battery, public fast charging about 5 percent. Public charging carries 18 percent GST. Both are editable.

Fuel prices and specs

City fuel prices are dated . Battery and range figures were read from brand websites ; models marked "per portals" are still being confirmed.

Why are some models marked "per portals"?

We read battery and range from each brand's own India site. Where a brand's page couldn't be read, we use figures from automotive portals and say so until it's confirmed.

Are fuel prices live?

No. City prices are collected from published daily price pages and dated on this page. Prices change often, so type your local price for the most accurate result.

Can I compare an EV that isn't listed?

Yes. Choose "My EV isn't listed" in the model menu and enter its battery size and claimed range.

Does it include subsidies or road tax?

No. This tool compares running cost only. Purchase incentives and state road-tax rules vary and change often.
