Real-world range estimator
Every factor on the table
We start from the brand's claimed range, apply the real-world share for its test cycle, then adjust for your conditions.
Starting point
Claimed range × 70 to 82%, by test cycle (ARAI, MIDC, IDC, NEDC or WLTP), is the "typical mixed driving" baseline, or the brand's own real-world figure where it publishes one (currently Tata). Specs: .
Your conditions
Speed, temperature, load, hills and driving style scale the energy used per km. AC and heater are added as a fixed power draw, so they hurt more at city speeds.
Battery and band
Battery health reduces usable capacity directly. We show a band of ±10% because real models differ. These are typical EV behaviours, not measurements of your exact car.

Questions people ask
Why is real-world range lower than claimed?
Claimed range comes from lab test cycles at gentle speeds. Real driving adds higher speeds, AC, heat, passengers, hills and battery ageing, all of which use more energy per kilometre.
How much does AC reduce range?
AC draws about 1 kW on average. Because that power is spread over fewer kilometres at low speeds, it costs more range in city traffic than on the highway. The tool works this out from your average speed.
Does heat or cold matter more in India?
Heat mostly costs range through battery cooling and AC. Cold matters in the hills and north in winter, where battery efficiency and the heater both pull range down.
How accurate is this?
It's a planning estimate. The factors reflect typical EV behaviour, not measurements of your exact model, which is why a ±10% band is shown.
What does battery health mean?
It's the share of the original capacity the battery can still hold. A 90% battery stores 90% as much energy as a new one, so range falls by about the same amount.
