Trip cost and charging stops calculator
A planning estimate, not a route
No maps and no live charger data yet. You give the distance, and we work out the energy.
Range on the road
Real-world range (claimed × 70 to 82%, by test cycle, or the brand's own real-world figure where published), reduced by 10% at about 90 km/h and 20% at about 110 km/h. These factors are estimates, shown in the result.
Stops
The car drives to your arrival reserve, then charges to your target at a DC fast charger and repeats. The last stop only adds what the trip needs.
Cost
The charge you leave with is priced at your home rate. Energy added on the way is priced at the public rate plus 18% GST and 5% charging loss. Specs: .
Ask who drove your route.
Charger status, queue times and real highway ranges from owners who've done the trip. Free, and always will be.

Questions people ask
How are charging stops worked out?
The calculator drives until the battery reaches your arrival reserve, charges to your target at a DC fast charger, and repeats. The final stop only charges what is needed to finish.
Why does highway speed matter?
Energy use rises sharply with speed. At about 110 km/h an EV covers noticeably less than at 90 km/h, so the tool reduces range by a visible factor.
Does it find chargers on my route?
Not yet. This is a planner for cost and stops; check charger availability in your charging apps and the ATev community before you go.
Does it include the charge I leave home with?
Yes. That energy is priced at your home rate, and what you add on the way at the public rate plus GST.
Should I plan for a round trip?
Choose "Round trip" to double the distance. It assumes you can't charge at the destination, which is the cautious case.
